BRITNEY SPEARS - SPEARS + REID SET FOR OFF-BROADWAY SPOOF
BRITNEY SPEARS and TARA REID’s troubles are set to become the stuff of comedy in a new off-Broadway show.
Jenn Harris will play Spears and Sarah Saltzberg will star as actress Reid in the upcoming premiere of Girls Day, Or Britney and Tara Stare into the Void and the Void Stares Back.
The “tragi-comedy,” which debuts on 11 May (08) at the Ace of Clubs theatre in New York, also features an actor portraying Spears’ ex Kevin Federline.
The plot of the play revolves around a fictitious afternoon Spears and Reid spend together, a month after the pop star checks out of a rehabilitation clinic.
Tara Reid: Fun in the Mexican Sun
She’s quite the traveler these days, and it seems that Tara Reid has turned in her Australian affinity for a little Mexican mojo.
The “American Pie” actress was spotted over the weekend enjoy the beautiful weather and surroundings of Cancun, Mexico.
Yesterday, Reid showed off her fabulous bikini body, sporting an animal print two-piece bathing suit, along with a south-of-the-border-style shawl.
The former “Taradise” hostess has also been seen going around with a new Mexican playboy. As far as relationships go, this one isn’t even on the map yet, but with Mexico’s reputation for romance, who knows what could happen?
Tara Reid Lands Back on Earth
Tara Reid proved the old saying - you can take the girl out of Jersey, but shouldn’t the girl put a brush through her hair first?
The frazzled star landed at LAX looking like she just stepped out of a space-time continuum.
Seriously, when will that “American Pie” money finally run out?
Tara Reid, Vanessa Carlton Get Smart With Live Earth
Tara Reid turns green? No, it’s not a drunken outtake from Taradaise. Rather, the celeb came out last night in Venice with a bevy of other environmental advocates including Mindy Kaling, Vanessa Carlton, Steven Bing, Fischer Stevens, Jennifer Coolidge, and Kevin Wall to celebrate Live Earth and the unveiling of the new smart fortwo car.
The evening’s highlight was a three-song set by Vanessa Carlton. “I try to be very green,” Carlton told me prior to taking the stage. “I don’t drive, I take the subway…I use 7th generation products and do events like these to raise awareness.” Cartlon’s performance was part of Live Earth’s mission to use the power of music to combat climate change.
Hot topics? The new car of course, which is being touted as the most-fuel efficient non-hybrid in the United States. Driving to the event in my beloved black Prius, I’m hard-pressed to toss my battery just yet. But the folks at smart are insistent that these cars get more consistently efficient gas mileage overall, come from one of the most-eco sound factories, and happen to fit in my purse. Well, small parking spaces at least.
So have any celebs gone smart? Kevin Wall was driven to the event in a smart Mercedes (while he spilled the beans about his brigade of hybrid cars and new solar panels in his home, he wouldn’t divulge what Live Earth has in store for us next…yet). Office star Mindy Kaling drives a Mini Cooper, but is intrigued, along with her boyfriend, a blogger for nerve.com, by the smart. Fischer Stevens of Lost loves his Lexus Hybrid.
Stevens also mentioned that he’s in the process of developing a pilot for NBC about five people and their quest to start an environmental web site that proves more difficult than they thought. “Maybe I’ll use you guys,” he quipped. I didn’t mention consulting fees, but he knows where to find me.
Guests left with a copy of the Global Warming Survival Guide and the Live Earth CD: I listened to Damien Rice and David Grey on the way back to West Hollywood, debating a burning question—what does Tara Reid do help our planet? “I eat organic food,” all eighty-something pounds of her told reporters.
Tara Reid fan: I’ve got your heirlooms, rummy
A New Jersey woman purchased some items at an auction that belonged to Tara Reid’s grandmother. The items include a ton of Tara’s baby photos and letters the grandmother wrote to baby Tara. But the Reid family doesn’t seem to be interested, according to Page Six:
“These are sentimental family heirlooms,” said the current owner. “It has no monetary value but looks like it would be valuable to the family.” She’s tried reaching out to the Reid family, but, “They just don’t seem interested, or maybe they aren’t even aware we have it.”
I happen to have a copy of one those letters right here. Let’s take a peak at this precious exchange from a loving grandmother:
Dear sweet little Tara,
Your Grandmama so enjoys your visits with her and Poppy. We think it’s just adorable the way your two-year-old little hands open the liquor cabinet and pour yourself a juice cup full of Jim Bean. It was also so heartwarming to introduce us to your boyfriend you met at the track when you escaped for four hours. Your Poppy loves meeting new people. He’d never met a 60-year-old truck driver before. I think you two make a handsome couple - when you’re not piss drunk and throwing bottles at each other. But relationships are a tricky sort.
Grandmama has to go now. The police are here to ask questions about your little car ride. We still don’t know how you reached the pedals. Such a smart girl you are.
Hugs and Kisses!
Grandmama
P.S. Hope you enjoy the scotch-soaked Oreos! My little cupcake’s favorite treat! Smooches!

Plastic Surgeon Weighs In: I Can Fix Tara Reid’s Botched Lipo
After being photographed in a teeny-weeny, black and white striped bikini while on a recent trip to Australia last December, Tara Reid was once more in the limelight as the world got a look at her rippled tummy and distorted breasts, the disastrous results of a poorly executed abdominal liposuction.
Make Me Heal has also featured Tara Reid’s past traumas, but now, turns the page to look into how Tara Reid can correct the damage. Dr. David Amron, a Beverly Hills-based liposuction expert who only performs liposuction at his practice, believes that Reid can look as good as she had hoped for when she first went under the knife. Dr. Amron gives Make Me Heal an exclusive and detailed account at not only where previous plastic surgeries have gone wrong, but also what he would do to revise Tara Reid’s lumpy tummy and give it a smoother, more natural appearance.
First, Dr. Amron tells Make Me Heal which surgical procedures he thinks Tara Reid has had and what might have gone wrong. “From reviewing the photos, I feel that Tara Reid has had liposuction of at least her abdomen. From what I can see, she is a fairly young woman with quite good skin tone, but there is a lot of unevenness in her abdomen that does not typically occur naturally. This type of unevenness most likely is occurring because [of] fibrotic tissue, or scar tissue, within the fat layer that has been created in an uneven way, along with uneven removal of the fat.”
He continues, “In this case, it looks as if the surgeon may have been overly aggressive and caused scar tissue. Some areas of the abdomen may have been thinned out too much, that’s why you get that wrinkly appearance that looks like older skin. If this is what has happened, it’s a good example of why it is important to not be overly aggressive during liposuction. Even though many patients want as much fat removed as possible, you have to temper or balance how aggressive you are being with someone’s skin tone to get the best result. Unfortunately, I commonly see this type of result sent to me for revision liposuction work. This is why I strongly feel it is important to try to get the results right the first time. It is a difficult irregularity to revise, but I have had a lot of success with my approach.”
“From what it looks like from the photos, Tara’s irregularities are primarily occurring because there are some areas that were done overly aggressively and other areas that were not done well enough. Additionally, there is a lot of uneven skin retraction because the surgeon has most likely jabbed or poked the skin from underneath. This irritates the dermis causing uneven pull back of skin.”
Tara Reid’s upside-down looking navel apparently is another tell-tale sign of the liposuction. “It looks as if the surgeon that did this caused uneven pull back of the skin, where more of the skin in the area is pulling down and causing the belly button to turn downwards,” adds Amron.
Ordinarily, Dr. Amron says he would use fat transfers from other parts of the patient’s body to fill in the deeper indentations in her tummy. But because Tara is too thin for that, an alternative approach of using Thermage for skin tightening is recommended.
“This is commonly where I do feel that Thermage can make an additional improvement after liposuction. A few weeks or months after [surgery], I go ahead and make things smoother with the revision liposuction procedure, I might recommend doing a Thermage treatment for additional skin tightening. In my experience, I usually can make a great improvement in almost all the patients like this.”
Dr. Amron is confident that a significant improvement can be in sight for Tara Reid should she undertake his recommendations.
“If the revision liposuction is approached right, I have never seen the area get worse and almost always there is significant improvement. But, this is an example of why it is so important to get this right the first time. The type of liposuction result that is easy to improve is asymmetry. But, when you see this degree of irregularity [with Tara Reid], it is a more difficult revision case than just removing more fat or correcting asymmetry.”
If Tara Reid takes up Dr. Amron on his recommendations, it wouldn’t be the first time she would undergo corrective plastic surgery. After inadvertently exposing her oddly shaped areolas on a red carpet, Tara has said she had her breast implants replaced and corrected.
Dr. Amron’s dedication to helping people look their best is an inspiration for all who have suffered a botched plastic surgery. His concentrated and detailed critique and solutions for the young actress’ liposuction and visible scarring gives hope that Tara Reid will once again be the beauty that charmed audiences in American Pie.

Sara Groen to Take Two
LUSCIOUS Channel Seven news weather presenter Sara Groen is one of the celebrities gearing up for her first performance in that rating’s monster, It Takes Two, when it airs on Tuesday.
A competent singer in the school choir and musicals, Groen is now taking singing lessons and practises in the car.
Last week she revealed exclusively to Hush that her singing partner is none other than Adam Harvey, who walked away recently with the Album Of The Year gong at the Country Music Awards.
Rehearsing their opening song, which is a sensual ballad, Harvey asked Groen if she was thinking of her boyfriend.
Groen, who had to admit she is single, was last seen, along with most single beautiful women in Sydney, on the arm of tireless dating bachelor Hugo’s Dave Evans.
Harvey’s response was to think of her favourite celebrity. A tad lame and nothing like the glittering John Cavill gown she will be wearing in the first show.
Heart-felt role
ELKA Graham, the talented freestyle silver medal swimmer, narrowly escaped death back in 2003 from a heart condition, which she joyfully overcame.
Now there is more to celebrate as she has become engaged to Australian waterpolo captain Thomas Whalan, who proposed to her in Italy, where he plays for Savona.
With so much joy in her life Graham has taken on the role as the “face” for luxury Swiss watch brand Frederique Constant, who for Valentine’s Day will share their passion with the Heart Foundation.
With every watch sold from the Heart Beat collection, Frederique Constant will donate $50 to the Heart Foundation as part of its Go Red For Women campaign, which focuses on raising awareness about women and heart disease.
Gilding the Ivy:
“THEY are not uniforms, they are outfits,” laughs Carolina Jensen, the in-house stylist of the still-unfinished Ivy, the pleasure palace for Sydney’s anointed cool set in George St.
And outfits they certainly are. Hot young designers Ruby Smallbone and Andy Amos of Andysoma have created a series of designs unique to each of the bars and restaurants.
Their brief from owner Justin Hemmes was a desire to achieve an intimate and personal house-party feel, despite the fact that the space is enormous.
Smallbone, who dresses the likes of Isla Fisher, Kate Hudson and Mischa Barton, has designed “outfits” for the Mad Cow and Teppanyaki restaurants as well as for bar and floor staff for the
Lounge and Den.
Her inspiration is the 1960s, with a graphic black and white fabric print. Interestingly the signature colour for The Ivy is yellow (how sunny) and this also features in contrast details.
Her favourite “outfit” is a black silk kimono worn with a printed obi (with the sleeves lined in yellow) for the Teppanyaki restaurant.
Amos’s inspiration for the lads was based on the rawness and organic nature of the textures of the interior created by Paul Hecker.
So their organic Japanese denim jeans with rolled-up cuffs give a casual nod to the ’50s, when partnered with striped Italian shirting.
Poker’s faces
THE lads from Ruby Rabbit and De Nom, Phil Cawood and Paul Schell tend to set trendsin Sydney (sorry Justin) and were the first to do a modern take on burlesque in their swanky hot spot.
They were also the first to create a poker den for those lucky enough _ or rich enough _ to be members.
Last week Jessica Origliasso from The Veronicas and her beau Dean Geyer (Australian Idol) joined some curious female friends to watch burlesque queen Rachel St James (of course) do her thing.
And next week get ready to spot US oil heir (and Paris Hilton’s mate) Brandon Davis take to the gaming table.
He will be there for De Nom’s launch of a luxury tournament poker challenge, where those with enough dosh buy a place at the gilded table at a measly $1000 each.
The prize pool is $36,000; just enough for Davis to buy his latest squeeze Cheyenne Tozzi a new Hermes crocodile Kelly Bag (oops, that’s not enough, as they clock on for around $50k).
Other cardsharks will include world champion player Joe Hachem and his brother, Tony.
Top target teamHUSH is a closet fan of Home and Away and has always been partial to the sultry looks of its hottest star Jodi Gordon.
Unfortunately someone stole her heart recently in the guise of the devilishly handsome Ryan Stokes and together they were seen indulging in romantic banter on the slopes of Aspen.
Gordon has also become an ambassador for Fashion Targets Breast Cancer, which is celebrating its 10 years in Oz. The charity of the fashion set, it has raised nearly $2 million.
There will be lots of activity surrounding the anniversary and the original FTBC Ambassador Sarah Murdoch is also coming on board as the patron. She is already a patron of the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
The youth ambassador is delectable actress Tahyna Tozzi, whose role is to alert young women that having a mammogram is not just for the over 40s, as the insidious disease sadly also affects the young.
Swifts soiree
THE once-tired Cornucopia Committee (which started up in 1973 to raise funds for physically abused children) has lifted its game and empowered a quota of young things to begin competing for Sydney’s fundraising dollars.
A Valentine’s Day garden party is being held on February 15 at the historic stone pile, The Swifts in Darling Point hosted by their energetic vice-president Evette Robinson Moran with law firm Johnson Winter & Slattery as corporate sponsors.
Evette is the wife of Mark Moran, of the well-known Sydney family (not be confused with the gangland family of the same surname in Melbourne), who own The Swifts.
His folks Doug and Greta have spent mucho millions renovating the historic castle and now one and all can enjoy their hard work for a paltry $100.
I’ve already bought my ticket, so see you there.
Right royal visit
PRINCESS Bhargavi Kumara Mewar and her brother Prince Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar are visiting Australia as the guests of the Taj Hotel Group who manage their family summer palace in Udaipur, India.
Known as the Lake Palace Hotel, it was their family’s retreat when the midday sun became intolerable.
As with many royal families in India they have been able to maintain their extraordinary lifestyle by allowing ordinary or less privileged folk to indulge, even for a night, in the dream-like life.
The Princess was elegant in a lime green sari but what stunned the 100 guests at the screening of a short film (aptly titled Jewels and Marble Palaces) was her diamond necklace and drop earrings.
A family friend, Adele Perry, said the jewellery was just her daytime bling. Imagine.
The Prince (who is single, ladies!) lived in Sydney for some years studying hospitality in the Blue Mountains.
Another guest at the State Theatre was Vijit Singh from Jaipur. His mother Maharani Gayatri Devi was the last of the Queens of Jaipur and was listed by Vogue in the 1930s as one of the world’s most beautiful women.
Tara Reid is Moving To Australia
Notorious Hollywood party girl Tara Reid is packing her bags and moving to Australia.
Reid has been offered a recording contract with SonyBMG and is set to move into the Rex Apartment Building in Sydney’s Potts Point in March, according to PR man Mark Patrick in the Sunday Telegraph yesterday.
In January 2007, Reid was brought to Australia by ad exec John Singleton and retailer Gerry Harvey [pictured with Reid in an Aussie akubra]. “I love Australia. The people are amazing and I love Australians, they’re a lot of fun and just really good people,” said Reid at the time. It was Singleton who introduced Reid to SongBMG head Denis Handlin, so we’re laying the blame directly on him.
Reid returned to Australia again in December 2007, spruiking everything from the aptly named “Hookers Ball” in Darwin to Dodo internet services. She also hooked up with model Miranda Kerr’s ex-boyfriend Jay Lyon at the Palazzo Versace on the Gold Coast while she was here.
Is Australia ready for Tara Reid?
Tara Reid’s Chinese New Year
Continuing to enjoy her time in London, Tara Reid spent Saturday night at County Hall attending Andy & Patti Wong’s Chinese New Year Party.
Despite being spotted out nearly every night, typically drunk, the American Pie star feels she is unfairly portrayed as a party animal, insisting she has never done anything to deserve constant bad press and poor reviews - unlike Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton.
The 32-year-old “Taradise” host told press: “What have I ever really done? Dance on a table? When Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton got their DUIs - they got punished, they deserved it.”
Continuing on with her own little pity party, Reid adds: “But my punishment, I don’t feel like it fits the crime. I don’t understand why people punish others for being happy.”
Tara Reid: Paris And Lindsay ‘Deserved’ Jail
Tara Reid has slammed fellow party girls Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan for their incarcerations last year, insisting the pair “deserved it”.
The actress is angry she has been lumped in with the pair - despite her similarly notorious love of ‘partying’ never attracting the attention of the police.
She says, “What have I ever really done? Dance on a table? When Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton got their DUIs, they got punished, they deserved it.
“But my punishment, I don’t feel like it fits the crime. I don’t understand why people punish others for being happy.”
